Thanks for a great 2019!

Thanks for a great 2019!

2019 brought the business area in Ballerup Municipality many new opportunities to strengthen its performance. The highlight of the year was our announcement of a new partnership with PensionDanmark who we will work with to jointly develop a new residential and business park – KILDEDAL. We are therefore very much looking forward to 2020 and all of its new and exciting challenges.

First and foremost, we would like to say a big thank you for your cooperation over the course of the year. A lot of companies and partners have contributed with valuable ideas to our processes and how we develop our business parks – and that is something that we really do value. We will continue to work on this development in 2020 and we are looking forward to even more of your insightful and qualified input to help us ensure things are designed properly.

KILDEDAL – a new business and residential park

One of our major focus areas in 2019 has been landing an agreement with PensionDanmark to develop KILDEDAL into a pioneering and sustainable residential and business park comprised of up to 1000 residential units and 10,000 new workspaces. In November, we were finally able to unveil the huge ambitions we had for the area, and we are now beginning the process to bring those ambitions to life.

Lautrupparken must remain an attractive area

Lautrupparken is one of the country’s biggest business parks with more than 20,000 work and study spaces. The area’s position as a leading business park must be retained in order to ensure that Lautrupparken is still a relevant place to do business and study even 10–20 years down the line. It is for this reason that we spent time in 2019 developing different plans on how to further develop this established business park. Among other things, we are investigating the possibility to establish a prioritised bus link (Bus Rapid Transport) between Malmparken Station and Klausdalsbrovej. On a general level, we are developing a new master plan for Lautrupparken in 2020 which is being produced in close cooperation with business and property owners.

Company visits

In 2019, Mayor Jesper Würtzen visited a wide range of local businesses just as he has done in previous years. This year, the mayor visited a total of 22 businesses together with our business development manager Jette Rau.

The visits provided insights into what the many businesses in Ballerup Municipality are working on and what hopes and desires they have for attracting and recruiting a qualified labour force, the development of local conditions and collaboration with the municipality. The mayor also took the opportunity to talk about the municipality’s plans and projects which are relevant to local businesses. We will continue to visit even more businesses in 2020.

What does 2020 have in store?

BusinessBallerup will be continuing its work on the development of KILDEDAL and Lautrupparken, we will be visiting more businesses and we will be working on ways to hold even more events for and in collaboration with the local business community and with other partners.

We would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who participated in our events, gave us feedback and helped to make Ballerup Municipality one of Denmark’s leading municipalities for business. We are in constant dialogue with local businesses, so please contact our Business Development Manager Jette Rau at jrau@balk.dk with any comments or requests you may have.

We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Season’s greetings from BusinessBallerup
